BEGINNING SMOCKING
Description: Learn the basic smocking stitches and incorporate them into a
beautiful bishop dress. The 1st and 2nd class you will learn the basic
smocking stitches and you will learn how to read a smocking plate and center
the design while working on a bishop dress. The third class you will learn how
to finish the bishop, how to sew a placket, and how to attached the neck
binding to the bishop.
Class Class Duration: 3 weekly sessions of 2 1/2 hours each.
KIT FEE: $18.00 (Includes multi-sized bishop pattern,
practice sampler, and smocking plate .
When: Monday, 9/28, 10/5, & 10/12
Time: 10-12:30 AM
Cost: $50
Supply List: Sewing Machine in good working order for the 3rd class
Basic sewing supplies – thread, scissors, pins, etc.

DMC – assorted colors
BEGINNING PICTURE SMOCKING
Create those precious little pictures on garments with the technique of
stacking cables. Knowledge of basic smocking stitches required. We will be
working on a Christmas design!
Two 2 hour sessions: $35 includes hand-outs, practice piece & design plate

KIT FEE: $14 (Includes 2 inserts and smocking plate).
